The dynamic duo of Michael Bay and Steven Spielberg deliver an unexpected family oriented yet thrilling to the eyes and ears storyline geared towards long time fans and novices to the world of the Transformers. Thanks to a YTV Transformers weekend replete with the original Transformers movie and consecutive episodes of Transformers Cybertron wars we were properly backgrounded and revved up to indulge in this escapist fantasy.
The transformations of machine on screen are amazing but the glue holding everything together is cemented in the bond between not just between geekboy and his first car, but geekboy landing the hot girl. It is as they say Intro 101 How to Get a Girlfriend.
Transformers is fun and funny and imbued of course with Armageddon drama and melodrama. Spielberg with the touch of a child, and Michael Bay supplying the vision and the armory to propel Transformers into the next franchise a la Bad Boys. Heaven help us all.
